Hervie Lee Wilson

Hervie_Lee_WilsonFuneral Services for Mrs. Hervie Lee Wilson, 90, will be held Friday, December 23 at 11 a.m. at Mt. Calm Baptist Church with the Rev. T. A. Knapp, officiating. Interment will follow at Walker Cemetery.

Hervie Lee Bell Wilson was born Nov. 24, 1921 in Bienville Parish to Cornelious and Jessie Pearl Bell. She was the third of five children born.

She united in holy matrimony to Albert Dan Wilson. To this union, three sons were born, Albert "Blue," Eddie "Gene Boy," and John "Lil Johnny."

She accepted Christ at a very early age and joined St. Matthews Church. After marrying, she moved to Minden in 1955 and united with Mt. Calm Baptist Church. She was a dedicated member of the usher board. For 20 years, she was a member of the Mission and the Sr. Citizen group.

Mrs. Hervie Lee was a licensed cosmetologist for more than 50 years.

God called home one of his angels, Mrs. Hervie Lee Wilson, on Dec. 15, 2011. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; two sons, Eddie and Albert; and her siblings.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories a loving and devoted son, John Wilson; three grandchildren, Darren Wilson (Mitizie) of Houston, Texas, Keith Wilson, Sr. of San Francisco, California and Fredda Jones of Minden; great-grandchildren, D'ara Wilson of Georgia, Charnikka Wilson, Keith Wilson, Jr., Bria Wilson, all of San Francisco, Christian Wilson of Houston and Danielle Jones of Minden; one sister-in-law, Beatrice Bell of Minden; two loving and devoted adopted sisters, Ruby Mims and Gladys Drew; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held Thursday, December 22 in the chapel of Kennon's Mortuary from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. Services are entrusted to Kennon's Mortuary. Email condolences may be sent to kennonsmortuary@suddenlink.net.
