James Sidney 'Trapper" Foster

Graveside services and interment for James Sidney "Trapper" Foster, 83, were held today (Monday, Dec. 19, 2011) at 10 a.m. at Western Cemetery, Emerson, Arkansas with the Rev. Tim Everett officiating. Services were under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Springhill.

Visitation was held Sunday, 5 until 8 p.m. at Bailey Funeral Home.

Mr. Foster, a resident of this area for 56 years, died Friday, Dec. 16, 2011 in Taylor, Arkansas. He was a member of New Sarepta Baptist Church and a retired employee of International Paper Company with 30 years of service. He was an avid outdoorsman, and had worked as a commercial fisherman and trapper. He will be remembered by many for his love of animals and nature.

He is preceded in death by his wife, June Modisette Foster on June 21, 2006 and by his parents, Sidney Russian and Katie Clark Foster.

He is survived by daughters, Monica Jean Davis and husband, Al of Milton, Florida and Minerva D. Kennedy and husband, David of Hartshorn, Missouri; sons, Sidney James Foster and wife, Dawn of Ruston and Dickie Dale Foster and wife, Judy of Beckville, Texas; 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; sister, Martha Kappes and husband, Bob of Springhill; brother, A. W. Foster and wife, Mavis of Springhill; and numerous stepchildren.
