Jimmie Lee Cooper

cooper_obitFuneral services for Mr. Jimmie Lee Cooper, 62, will be held Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2011, at noon at St. Rest Baptist Church, with the Rev. B. J. Martin officiating. Interment will follow at Sheppard Street Cemetery.

Jimmie Lee Cooper was born May 17, 1949 to the late Leon Cooper and Bertha Bailey Hunter. He was the oldest of three children born to this union. He grew up in Haynesville and attended school there until his junior year in high school when he moved to Minden. He graduated from Webster High School in 1968.

In May of 1991 Jimmie united in holy matrimony to Patsy Frazier.

He was employed by Tide Craft boat manufacturing for many years. His passions included fishing and woodworking.

Jimmie Lee Cooper departed this earthly life on December 9. He was preceded in death by his father, Leon Cooper; grandparents, Jessie and Ollie Sykes; and stepfather, Fulton Hunter.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 20 years, Patsy Cooper; his devoted mother, Bertha Lee Hunter of Minden; two sons, Shaun Cooper of Los Angeles, California and Shelton Jones (Angie) of Monroe.

He is also survived by four grandchildren; three sisters, Billie Lindle of Pontiac, Michigan, Linda Baker (Bobby, Sr.) of Minden, and Lee Bertha Burton (James) of Shreveport; aunt, Ruby Glasco (S.A.) of Shreveport; mother-in-law, Sally Frazier; father-in-law, Robert Frazier, Sr.; four brothers-in-law; two sisters-in-law; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held today (Tuesday, December 13) in the chapel of Kennon's Mortuary from noon until 8 p.m.

Services are entrusted to Kennon's Mortuary.
