COA makes plans for holiday season

Thursday is reservations deadline

For 25 years the Webster Council on Aging has tried to make the Christmas season a little less lonely for area senior adults by hosting a Christmas party.

"This is the only Christmas dinner and Christmas activity that some of these seniors will have," said COA director Dathene Brown.

"They live alone and their families live away from here and probably are not coming home."

The annual COA Christmas party, for those 60 years of age or older will be Friday, December 9 from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Minden Civic Center.

For a $2 ticket senior adults can enjoy entertainment by Bruce Lee, a Christmas meal and door prizes.

There will be fruit basket door prizes donated by Humana Insurance and Ray Ramsay and, "a beautiful handmade Teddy bear door wreath created by Debra Spencer one of our staff members," Brown said.

Reservations must be made by Thursday, December 8. To purchase a ticket or line up transportation call the Council on Aging in Minden 371-3056 or Springhill 539-2510.
