I heard the bells on Christmas day

This is a favorite carol of many. Written by one of America's most famous poets, Henry W. Longfellow, the words lead us through a dynamic worship experience centering on "peace on earth, good will toward all men". In this world of chaos and strife, these two aspects of Christian virtue are greatly needed today, maybe as never before.

Have you heard the bells pealing out across Minden on the hour each day? Aren't we thankful that our FUMC friends share daily reminders of the melodious wonders of God's love. May these blessed interludes remind us of the Carols of Christmas.

The hope of these tender messages of "the unbroken song that reminds us God is not dead, nor does He sleep" continues to bring hope to weary souls, especially at this time of year. Because of Christmas (Christ's birth), the world revolves toward light, bringing peace on earth, good will to men. Listen for the bells this Advent season and rejoice at the good news – Christ has come to save us from our sins!
