Doris_Wright531Funeral services for Doris Harper Wright will be held Friday, Dec. 2, 2011 at 11:30 a.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home Chapel in Minden. Officiating will be the Rev. Don McCormick, the Rev. Monroe Mercer and the Rev. Jim Crain. Interment will follow at Gardens of Memory.

The family will receive friends from 5 until 8 p.m. today (Thursday, Dec. 1, 2011) at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden.

Doris was born August 28, 1923 and entered into rest Nov. 29, 2011 in Lafayette.

She was a resident of Minden for many years and has spent the past 10 years in Bossier City where she was a member of Greenacres Baptist Church. During her years in Minden she was a member of Calvary Baptist Church where she taught the Dorcas Sunday School Class for many years, was past treasurer for Calvary and LA Missionary Baptist Institute & Seminary, and was past Worthy Matron of the Order of Eastern Star. Doris retired as office manager for McInnis Insurance Agency after 47 years of service.

Her first husband, George R. Harper; second husband, Eulus E. Wright; brothers, Coy Booth and Truette Booth; sisters, Lillie Mae Welborne, Irene Fuson, Leora Liles and Vertie Kilpatrick; and special nephew and niece, Charles Liles and Betty Ann Liles McGee preceded her in death.

She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Harper Lee and husband, David of Bossier City; granddaughter, Whitney Lee Nolan and husband, Roger of Jasper, Georgia; grandson, Jared Lee and wife, Heather of Frisco, Texas; great-granddaughters, Hannah and Lexi Lee of Frisco; special nieces and nephews, Linda Peck, Judi Liles, Cheri and Aric Akers, Marilee and Kent Mandernach, David and Kelsey Liles, Ashlyn, Cameron, and Grayson Akers, Bowen Mandernach; and numerous other nieces and nephews.

The family extends special thanks to Dr. Allie and his staff of Cardiovascular and Limb Salvage in Lafayette, Regional Medical Center of Acadiana in Lafayette, and Cypress Point Nursing and Rehab Center in Bossier City.
