Armed robbers at large

Minden Police are looking for two armed men who robbed a convenience store at the corner of Hwy. 531 and Hwy. 80 last week.

Police Chief Steve Cropper said around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday, two black males approached the clerk who was preparing to close the store at midnight.

"She (clerk) was taking the trash outside to the bin," Cropper said. "When she turned around, the men were standing there and ordered her back into the store and to open the cash register."

The chief said at least one of the men was carrying a handgun.

"We looked at surveillance tape and could see one gun," he said. "The other man had his hand behind his back, so we aren't sure if he had one."

Video did not reveal identifiable views of the two men, who were described as black males, dressed in black and wearing ski masks.

They left the store with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Anyone with any information about the two men is asked to call Minden Police at 371-4226.
