North Webster’s Reeves to lead Springhill parade

The Springhill-North Webster Parish Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the Grand Marshal of the 2011 "The Sweet Taste of Christmas" Chamber Christmas Parade is Janet Gray Reeves.

Reeves, until earlier this year, was the manager of the Springhill-North Webster Chamber of Commerce. She is a native of Sarepta and continued her education at Louisiana Tech University.

She has a background in public relations, marketing, advertising, television and radio commercial writing, voice talent, business owner, public speaking and good customer relations.

Reeves and her husband, Mike, relocated to Sarepta in 2002 and have enjoyed "attempting" to become carpenters, painters and landscape architects ever since. They now profess to have a very healthy respect for all these professionals.

She believes in the Golden Rule of "treating people as you would like to be treated" and of "speaking as you would like to be spoken to." Her voice has the reputation of being friendly and cheery enough to perk up the dreariest of moods.

This year, Reeves was honored to receive the Ambassador of the Year Award for representing our area within and outside Webster Parish.

The public is invited to attend this Christmas Parade on December 3 at 5 p.m. and stay for entertainment and Santa in the Park.

To participate in the parade and/or volunteer to entertain in the park, call 539-4717.
