We find Esther in a predicament between King Xerxes and her Jewish heritage. You see, a man named Haman planned to kill all the Jews on a certain date, and only Esther could help. But before she was placed in this position, there were lots of preparations.
In the beginning of this story Esther is just a Jewish girl being raised by her cousin, Mordecai, in a foreign land after her parents died. There is a beauty contest at the Kings castle, because he is looking for a new queen.
