October 24

First United Church, Arcadia, will be selling pumpkins through October 31 from their pumpkin patch, donating all proceeds to youth missions. The patch hours will be Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m, Sundays 2 to 6 p.m.

Macedonia B.C., Cullen, will have their Annual Fall Revival through October 26 at 7 p.m. nightly. Guest speaker will be Minister Shawn Evans, Shower of Blessing Ministries Bishop Redscleux, pastor, Shreveport.

October 26

Mt. Zion CME, 414 E. Union St., Minden, will have a “One Night Revival” at 7 p.m. Guest evangelist will be Rev. Shirley Duty, pastor of Evening Star CME Church in Cullen. All are invited.

October 27

The Webster Parish NAACP monthly meeting will be held at the Northwest 14th District Building at 6:30 p.m. The meeting is open to
the public.

First Methodist Church on Broadway will be having "Pumpkin Shine" from 5 until 8 p.m, an evening of games, a haunted house, moonwalks, face painting, cakewalk and food. Cash prizes will be given for the pumpkin carving contest and the halloween costume contest.

FRESH FIRE CONFERENCE 2011 – October 28th and 29th at 1306 Cornell in
Ruston (Greenwood rec center). Service starts at 7pm each night.
Apostle Jackie Holloway of I AM Fivefold Mins and host pastor Apostle
Sonya Ellis of House of El Int’l Mins will be our anointed speakers.
Gas card giveaways each night. Come, be blessed and be set on fire for God!

Minden Medical Center will host a ribbon cutting for Dr. Cristal Kirby and Minden Pediatrics, 1232 Sheppard St., from 4 to 6 p.m.

There will be an unveiling of “Our Forefathers” mural and artist reception for James W. Thomas at 1 p.m. at Lumberjack Park at Church and Main H

Union Grove Baptist Church's 23rd Annual Anniversary Banquet honoring Pastor Alvin Shelton and First Lady Sister Annie Shelton will take place at 6:30 p.m. Ticket price is $10.00.

First United Pentecostal Church on Hwy 371 in Cotton Valley will be hosting a "Fall Festival" for children ages 6-12, Saturday, October 29, from 5:30 - 7:30 PM. There will be food, games, candy, prizes, and lots of fun. Costumes are optional. For more info: 832-4410

Mt. Nebo Baptist Church, Dubberly, Rev. S.G. Orange, will be hosting a Celebrate Jesus Praise Musical with Holly Grove B.C. Choir of Arcadia at 3:00 p.m.

New Light Baptist Church will hold All Auxiliary Day at 3:00 p.m. with guest Bishop Lee Otis, Sibley of the House of Refuge Ministries, Coushatta.

Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, 2880 6th Street, Arcadia, Rev. Joseph L. Henderson will have Family and Friends Day at 11:00 a.m. with guest speaker Rev. Milton Walker of St. Luke Baptist Church, Arcadia,  as well as their Deacon’s Ordination Services at 3:00 p.m. with guest church Rev. Bently Williams and the Bethany Baptist Church, Quitman.

Mt. Sinai CME Church, 1001 Mt. Sinai Rd. Haynesville, will be holding a Missionary Society Program at 2:30 PM with guest speaker Rev. Billy Isreal, Pastor of Bethel Nu Generation Baptist Church, Haynesville.

The Krewe of Elders is having a Halloween Party on Sunday, October 30,
2011, from 1:30 to 5:30 p.m., at the American Legion Post No. 14, located at
5315 South Lakeshore Drive, Shreveport, Louisiana.  Entertainment provided by
Louisiana Crossroads.  Cash bar, prizes for best costumes, 50/50 raffle, food

First Baptis Church, Doyline, is having a Fall Fest from 6-8 p.m. There will be food, games, prizes and treats for all ages.

North Acres Baptist Church, 1852 Lewisville Road, Minden, will be hosting its annual Fall Festival from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. for children ages 0-6th grade. Door prizes will be awarded at this free event. For more information call 371-1905.

 Main to Main Trade Days, Webster Parish, LA.  You will travel from Springhill Main Street, down Cullen Main Street, then cross over to Highway 371 traveling South to Sarepta, onto Cotton Valley and Dixie Inn.  Here turn East on Highway 80 travel downtown Minden then out Highway 371 to Sibley and to the parish line.   You will find antiques, “junktiques”, clothes, furniture, toys, anything you can name, just look and you shall find.   From garage sales to all types of food you will not believe how much fun you can have in two days.  For information call  Pattie Odom in Minden at 318-371-4258 or Jan Corrales in Springhill  at 318-539-5699.

Riverpark Church (Formerly Hamel’s), 3232 East 70th Street, Shreveport, will hosting a Veteran’s Day Biker Event from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. For more information and to register for the event, visit www.veteransforveterans.com. All proceeds go to locally hospitalized veterans.
