Pattern for Prayer: Yielding

"Thy kingdom come. . . . And lead us not into temptation." Luke 11:2b, 4b NASB

Using the word PRAY as an acrostic, the letter "Y" stands for Yielding. Yielding is surrendering our lives to do God's kingdom work and not following our selfish desires. When we pray for His kingdom work to be done, we are bringing our desires in tune with His desires and seeking His will to be done in our lives and around the world. When we pray for strength to avoid temptation, we are seeking to avoid things, places, or people that tempt us to do wrong.
