Betty Sutton Holtzclaw, a long time resident of Minden, passed away on Sept. 26, 2011 at Pilgrim Manor Nursing Home in Bossier City. Mrs. Holtzclaw was born May 7, 1914. Mrs. Holtzclaw retired from Willamette and Minden Medical Center. She lived a long, full life filled with family and friends.
Mrs. Holtzclaw was preceded in death by her husband, Griffin Walter Holtzclaw; a son, Griffin Walter Holtzclaw, Jr. and his wife, Pauline; a step-daughter, Gerry Sandifer and her husband, Royce Earl; a step-daughter, Gloria Reno and her husband, Fred; and a son-in-law, Jimmy L. Maddox.
Mrs. Holtzclaw is survived by a daughter, Carol Maddox; a son, Glenn Holtzclaw; a step-daughter, Bonnie Smith; 15 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren; and one great-great-great-grandchild.
The family would like to express thanks to the nurses and aides who took wonderful care of Mrs. Holtzclaw.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday, Sept. 29, 2011 at 3 p.m. at Gardens of Memory in Minden. Officiating will be the Rev. Andy Maddox.
