Cable company ups Internet speed

Suddenlink Communications has increased speeds for its Minden Internet services with no added charge.

Suddenlink services with download speeds of 1, 8 and 10 Megabits per second (Mbps) have been increased up to 1.5, 10 and 15 Mbps, respectively, and renamed accordingly: Suddenlink High Speed Internet 1.5, 10.0 and 15.0.

Suddenlink High Speed Internet 15.0 service is believed to be the fastest residential Internet service in Minden.

The improvement is the latest step in the company's previously announced nationwide capital investment program, calling for approximately $350 million over three years, above and beyond Suddenlink's traditional capital spending levels.

That program already has brought an all-digital TV lineup and new high definition (HD) TV channels to Minden.

HDTV offers a widescreen format, similar to a movie theater, with distinctly sharper images and better sound quality than standard TV.

More information about local Suddenlink services is available by visiting the company's website (suddenlink.com) and entering an address and zip code; by visiting Suddenlink's retail store at 726 Broadway in Minden; or by calling toll-free 888-822-5151.
