Woronski Autry, 28, of the 100 block of Anderson, was arrested for felony possession of CDS Sch. I (Marijuana) and illegal parking.
Minden Police Chief Steve Cropper said Ofc. Danny Turner located the van on Peach Street near B.F. Martin Drive and observed a group of males standing in the roadway blocking traffic.
"Officer Turner got out of his unit and asked them to walk over to his car," Cropper said. "They all began walking away from him toward a brown van which was parked facing the wrong direction on the street."
Cropper said when Turner pulled his patrol unit around the van, all five males began walking away from him toward the porch of a residence.
"He (Turner) advised them they needed to turn around and come back to him, which they did," Cropper said. "The officer was standing beside the van and when he looked through the driver's side window, he saw a plastic bag which appeared to contain Marijuana in the front window cupholder."
One of the subjects reportedly told Turner the van belonged to Autry. Turner removed the Marijuana from the vehicle and arrested Autry.
Since he had been convicted on a prior drug charge, Cropper said this charge became a felony arrest.
