All 2011 Boys and Girls State Delegates along with their parents, grandparents, friends and sponsors are invited to the Wiley -Pevy Post 74 American Legion meeting to be held at 6:30 p.m. Bring a covered dish for potluck and all state delegates wear your t-shirt for the official picture.

September 14

The Webster Parish Sheriff's Office will be conducting the Hunter's Education Program on September 26-28 at 6 p.m. at the Springhill Civic Center. To register or for more information, call Deputy Jeremy Moore at 994-2668.

Mt. Elam B.C., Heflin, will be in revival through September 16 at 7 p.m. nightly.

Mt. Paran Ladies Luncheon with special guest speaker Beverly Cottingham “The Many Hats Women Wear,” Saturday,September 24 at the Shongaloo Civic Center. Registration will be at 11 a.m. with program and lunch at 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. The cost is $6 and a RSVP is due today. For more information call Barbara Mitchell at 846-2325.

Minden Presbyterian Church Wednesday evening activites will resume beginning with supper at 5:30 p.m. The meal, furnished by B. Rose Catering, will be $5 for adults and $2 for children under 12 years of age. Children’s activities begin at 6:10 p.m. and Bible Study for adults at 6:15 p.m. The pastor’s group will begin the study “From Dust to Glory,” a survey of the entire Bible. Adult choir rehaearsal at 7:15 p.m.

Cajun Footworkers Dancers of Shreveport will hold its Annual Cajun Fall Dance at the St. John Berchman’s School Multi-room, a smoke-free environment, 947 Jordan St., Shreveport. Free dance lessons with paid admission from 6 -7 p.m. The band, Mary Tweedel and the Louisiana Cajun Mixers will play from 7 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. The cost of admission is $10.00 per person. A concession stand will be furnished by St. John Berchman’s School. Tickets will be available at the door or call 871-5591 or 686-5569. Natchitoches area may call 352-1618. No alcohol or ice chests allowed.

A Pre-Anniversary Musical will be held at Antioch Baptist Church, Hwy 79, Minden at 5 p.m. The pastor is the Rev. Roger Curry. The special guest choir will be Bethel B.C., Haynesville and special guest groups will be Christ People Deliverance Center, St. John Male Chorus, New Life F.W.B.C., The Fielding Family, Greater Harvest Praise Team, all of Haynesville, and special solosits include, Bro. Moses Johnson, Evan Roshada Hammond, Bro. Bernard Webb and Bro. Johnny R. Parish. There will be other guest groups and soloists present. Fish plates will be available in the fellowship area for a donation of $6.00.

LongSpring C.O.G.I.C., 3208 Dorcheat Rd. Minden, Elder David Thompson, Sr., pastor, presents A MUSICAL at 5 p.m. Also, the youth and adults will perform- a play, "Lust Of The Flesh and Fruit Of The Spirit.” Everyone is invited to attend.

The Krewe of Elders is having a party from 1:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the American Legion Post No. 14, located at 5315 South
Lakeshore Drive, Shreveport. Entertainment provided by Rockin Redeyes. Cash bar, door prizes, 50/50 raffle, food available for purchase. $6.00 members, $10.00 non-members. Open to public. For more information call 635-4901 or 752-9175.

Blue Run B.C., Minden,  Rev. Gregory DeLoach, pastor, presents “Family and Friend’s Day,” at 2:30 p.m. Special guest will be the Rev. Alvin Shelton, pastor of Union Grove B.C., Sibley. All churches are invited to attend.
