An Arkansas man is in a Louisiana jail cell on several charges, including attempted kidnapping.
James Tommy Arnold, 57, of Stephens, Arkansas, was arrested by Webster Parish deputies and charged with disturbing the peace by public intoxication, disturbing the peace in a business, simple battery, domestic abuse battery and simple attempted kidnapping.
“Deputies Tony Matteson and John Byrd were dispatched to a local truck stop in reference to a disturbance between a man and a woman,” said Sheriff Gary Sexton. “When they arrived, Arnold was standing near the victim. When deputies ordered him outside, Arnold clinched his fist at one of them.”
