MMC works fit with new director

9-5_MMC_reedMinden Medical Center is pleased to announce Reed McLendon has been named director of WorkFit.

"Customer service is the paramount cornerstone of what we do," said McLendon, who took over WorkFit operations earlier this summer. "Our goal is to grow our business but at the same time grow to meet the needs of our customers. We want to give the greatest care we can and the greatest customer service."

A respiratory therapist since 1997, McLendon was recruited out of the Cardiopulmonary CRT of Minden Medical Center. After serving as Field Services Manager for several months, he was named director of WorkFit.

Originally from Homer, McLendon and his wife, Christina, have three children, two daughters and a son. His wife is a nurse for Homer Memorial Hospital.

About WorkFit

WorkFit is a full service occupational medicine clinic who offers pre-employment services, drug screening, physicals, lifting assessments, lab testing services, x-ray services, vision testing, audio testing, light/modified duty programs supportive of the employee, vaccines, FIT testing, Pulmonary Function Testing (PFT) as well as a complete battery of post-accident services. They also evaluate and treat work related injuries.

WorkFit has a nurse practitioner, Lynn Maynor, on staff, solely dedicated to the WorkFit clinic with a Physician, Dr. Max Stell, as medical director of both WorkFit and Minden Medical Center Emergency Department.

They have a friendly and informative staff who are committed to building a relationship with their customers.

They also provide on-site flu shots, hepatitis vaccines, random drug screening (DOT & non DOT), breath alcohol testing, TB skin tests with follow-up evaluation of test results, audiograms in house as well as mobile on-site testing, respirator FIT testing and pulmonary function testing.

WorkFit acts as a liaison between the company, the employee, the nurse practitioner and physician.

They pride themselves in prompt accurate reporting to the employer as well as verifying attendance at scheduled appointments.

Together, they will explore modified work options that will allow an injured worker the opportunity to return to work as soon as possible.

WorkFit has 24/7 Case Management services for the employer's convenience to obtain after hour services for injuries.

WorkFit clinic hours are from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday at 216 West Union Street, Suite B in Minden.
