The Glenbrook Lady Apaches improved to 2-2 in district play as they defeated Riverfield, 11-9, Thursday afternoon at Glenbrook.
"It was a really big district win for us," Lady Apache head coach Jonathan Hardy said. "It keeps us right in the middle of the district race with a chance to move on."
The Lady Apache bats were hot during the game.
"I was real pleased with the way we swung the bats," Hardy said. "We had a lot of key hits and were able to pick up runners in scoring position. And then at the end of the game we went out and played the type of defense it takes to win ball games."
Jessica Mangrum took the win for the Lady Apaches as she pitched a complete game.
Sunni Wilson and Peyton Ruple led the way at the plate for Glenbrook. Wilson went three-for-four with a single and two doubles and Ruple had a single and four runs batted in. Macie Branch had a pair of singles and Melody Hanson doubled. Rayla Hardaway singled and scored two runs and Katie Kidd had a RBI-single. Carsin Spurlock added a bunt single.
