While firemen fought a grass fire that was started by a car fire, a distraught man sat on a pickup tailgate looking at the blood on his hands and telling his story to Minden police officers.
In the first of two wrecks on Allen Drive Thursday afternoon, Melvin Jones, a kidney transplant patient, said he was running an errand for someone when he lost control of his vehicle. The vehicle overturned then burst into flames.
