Funeral Services for Mr. ODell Madison will be held Saturday, August 20 at 11 a.m. at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Clay with Pastor Kenneth Sapp, officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
ODell Madison was born Feb. 13, 1955 in Monroe to Reddie Madison Owens and O. D. Thurman. He departed this earthly life on August 12 at Minden Medical Center.
ODell accepted Christ at an early age, was baptized at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and remained a member until his death.
He graduated from Ruston High School in 1973, having a passion for basketball. Odell was an active member of Pride of Ruston Lodge #92 Ruston,the Rolling Lincolnites, and loved to tailgate at Grambling State University football games.
He leaves to cherish his precious memory his mother, Reddie Mae Owens of Minden; father, O. D. Thurman of Ruston; three daughters, Yolanda Michelle Madison of Dallas, Texas, Leaundra Modest of Ruston and Chuntarria Herrin of Shreveport; five grandchildren, Myla Donson of Dallas, Megan Modest, Morgan Modest, RaKerria Modest and Paisley Modest, all of Ruston; four sisters, Shirley Daye of Ruston, Chasity Goree of Grambling, Linda Lewis of Ruston, and Sheka Bolton of Choudrant; three brothers, Jerry Davis of Ruston, Neil Davis of Ruston, and Michael Wesley of Chicago, Illinois; three aunts, Lovie Brown of Grambling, Lessie Martin of Ruston and Luvada Miles of Blanchard; four uncles, Grady Thurman and James Thurman, both of Ruston and G. C. Cheeks of Eldorado, Arkansas; and a host of other relatives and special friends.
Visitation will be held today (Friday, August 19) in the chapel of Kennon's Mortuary from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. with Masonic Rites by the Pride of Ruston Lodge #92 and family hour from 6:30 until 7:30 p.m.
