Anyone who's ever dreamed of owning a business can find out everything they need to know at a free workshop offered by the Louisiana Small Business Development Center and the Minden-South Webster Chamber of Commerce.
Chamber president Jerri de Pingre' said aspiring entrepreneurs should preregister by noon Tuesday, September 2 for the Wednesday, September 3 event.
"This is a great opportunity for business start-ups, recently started businesses and those seeking small business loans or information on business planning," de Pingre' said. "It's the second one we've done, and they are well-attended."
The event will be held in the chamber boardroom from 4 until 6:30 p.m. Wednesday. Topics will include: Entrepreneurial Readiness, Business Plans, Sources of Funds for Start Ups, Required Licenses, and Small Business Resources.
"If you are even thinking about going into business, this workshop might tip the scale one way or the other for you," de Pingre' said. "It's important for anyone who has a consideration or thought of going into business to get a good background ... a good start before they make that decision."
LA SBDC will also be offering individual consulting for existing businesses from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. the same day.
"This is for people who are already in business," de Pingre' said. "Appointments must be made, also by noon September 2."
Call the chamber office at 377-4240 to register for the workshop or to make an appointment for individual consulting. Both are offered at no cost.
