Vernie Mae Shine

Vernie ShineVernie Mae Shine was born to the late Albert and Minnie Ola Shine Linnear on August 10, 1930, in Claiborne Parish. She united with Mayflower Baptist Church at an early age and served faithfully until her health failed. She served on the mission board and sang in the choir.

She departed this earthly life Friday, August 16. Her parents, 11 sisters, three brothers, two grandchildren and one great-grandchild proceeded her in death.

She leaves to cherish her memories three children, Albert Lee Harrison of Bakersfield, Calif., Minnie Hawkins of Minden, Ardis (Glennie) Shine of Minden; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Vernie Mae Shine will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, August 23, 2014, at Mayflower Baptist Church with the Rev. Stephen Murphy officiating. Interment will follow at Mayflower Cemetery.

Services are entrusted to Kennon's Mortuary.
