MHS freshamn, JV teams get wins

BOSSIER — The Minden High freshmen and junior varsity teams got their first wins of the year, in their first outings, Wednesday at Parkway in Bossier.

The freshmen beat Parkway, 6-4, while the JV won 7-2.

The freshmen got a big performance out of Trace Francis who got the win on the mound and struck out seven batters. He also singled.
Peyton Gray pitched the final inning for the save. Aubrey Dennis also singled.

And in the JV's 7-2 win over Parkway, the Tide's Austin Keough turned in a tremendous effort in a complete game win.

Keough struck out 14 batters.

Corey DeMoss led the offense with a two-for-three night, and Ryan Garcia, Cade Morgan, Wilson Huffler and Braeden Morgan all added base hits.

Next up for the freshmen and junior varsity teams will be a doubleheader against North Webster in Springhill on Monday.
