New officer has been around the world and back

It wouldn't be exactly accurate to call Minden's newest police officer a law enforcement rookie. It would, though, be accurate to say Dedrick Anderson came more than half way around the world to resume his career where it began nearly 20 years ago.

Anderson recently put the finishing touch on a five-year stint working as a police advisor in foreign countries where conflict is almost a way of life. He spent three years in Iraq and two years in the world's newest country, the Republic of South Sudan. There, he put his 14-years of combined experience with the Minden Police Department and Webster Parish Sheriff's Office to good use.
