LifeShare Blood Center representative Mary Jo Henderson shows off the tee shirt that will be given away at the Community Blood Drive Wednesday, March 20. The drive will be held at the Minden Civic Center from noon until 6 p.m.
"We are in desperate need of blood," Henderson said. "We are begging donors to please come and help us replenish our dwindling supplies."
Henderson went on to remind the community that giving blood saves lives, including the life of Coleson Shaw, who suffered from Diamond Blackfan Anemia. A bone marrow transplant cured Coleson from the disease, which required him to undergo regular blood transfusions since he was born.
How is Coleson doing now? Watch the Minden Press-Herald for an update.
