Minden High School Future Buisness Leaders of America (FBLA) Chapter attended the District I Conference earlier this month. Students competed against FBLA chapters from other schools within the District including Lakeside, Airline, Castor and Ringgold in categories such as Business Procedures, Computer Applications, Word Processing and Accounting.
Of the over 40 Minden High School students who attended, over 30 scored Excellent on their exams, over 20 scored Superior, and a handful of students won first place in their categories.
Kevin Green (12th grade) won 1st place in Accounting II. Sonia Pereira (11th grade) won 1st place in Word Processing II. Jakerick Johnson (10th grade) won 1st place in FBLA Principals and Procedures. Ladarrion Nixon (10th grade) won 1st place in Spreadsheet Applications. Jacob Lester (12th grade) won 1st place in Public Speaking II. Paul McGee and Ingrid Rainer (both 12th grade) won 1st place in the group competition Desktop Publishing.
Minden took approximately 1/6th of the overall 1st place awards. Students placing Superior and 1st place in their categories will travel to Lafayette in March to compete in the State Conference.
