September 5

Pilgrim Rest U.M.C., 291 Pisgah Rd., is having revival services at 7 p.m. nightly through September 7.

September 6

Minden High School is hosting a parent open house at 6:30 p.m. in the auditorium for Freshman and Sophomore parents. Principal Robin Tucker will review T.O.P.S. requirements, graduation pathways, other requirements and important information. Parents will be able to meet teachers during a 30 minute meet and greet session after Tucker's presentation.

Webster Parish Communications District E-911 board meets on the first Thursday of every other month at the E-911 Administration and Addressing Office, 721 Homer Rd.

A Place that Warms the Heart, an organization that provides grief support services in a caring and compassionate environment is holding the first meeting of their fall session at 6:30 until 8:30 p.m. at Broadmoor B.C., 4110 Youree Dr., Shreveport. The session will run 8 weeks and is facilitated by trained professionals. A children group for ages 5-12, teen group for ages 13-18, significant other group for those who have lost a significant person such as a spouse, sibling or parent, a parent's group for those who have lost a child, and an Early infant loss group for parents who have lost a baby soon after birth or to SIDS, stillborn or miscarriage are provided. THe DeSoto Arts Council Gallery is hosting a reception/show for feature artist Lu Parish from 1 until 3 p.m. in the DAC Gallery in Grand Cane. Parish's oil and acrylic works reflects her world travels and her "dynamic" flowers suggest her "California experience" for more information call 858-2444.

Springhill High School Lumberjack graduates are invited to an Ultimate Class Reunion at 10 a.m. at the C.A.B.. Also being celebrated is a 102 year celebration and all graduates are encouraged to attend.Membership is $5 per year or a $100 lifetime membership. The Fuller Center for Webster is constructing its 50th home and will be hosting "The Golden Blitz Build". residents of northwest Louisiana are being asked to assist Fuller Center of Webster by donating monetary donations and by working on-site. North Louisiana Bengal Belles Committee will hold the 4th annual Bengal Belles luncheon at Sam's Town at 11:30 a.m., with doors opening for shopping at 9:30 a.m. Tickets are $30 and can be purchased from Tiger Town or from committee members. Special speakers include: KAthy Miles, Paul Dietzel, Jerry Stovall, and Dr. David Baker. All proceeds benefit LSU athletes.
