Kids get HeadStart on prom life

Parents and children involved with HeadStart are invited to take part in the first HeadStart prom, complete with dinner and pictures.

“Parents are very excited,” said Tammy Rallins with HeadStart. “They are really looking forward to a fun event with their children.”

The event is free to children who attend HeadStart and their parents. It starts at 6 p.m. Friday, May 6 at the Minden Civic Center.

“A parent, Tenishea Rowe, decided this would be a fun thing to do for the children,” Rallins said. “She organized a fund-raiser and raised approximately $1,115 for the event.”

Raffle tickets were sold by the parents and staff of Mother Goose Land School.

The first three winners received $50 each and a fourth winner received free services from Olivia’s Salon, located in downtown Minden.
