The Angel of Eternal Life came for Brother John D. Crawford on Friday, March 1, 2013 at Veterans Hospital in Shreveport.
He was born Dec. 28,1932, in Minden to the late Albert and Oneta Cobb Crawford. He attended Mt. Calm Baptist Church as a young boy. He attended the Webster High School, Class of 1955. He served three years in the United States Army where he received a purple heart and bronze medal, January 1951-1954.
He was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend to many. He joined in holy matrimony to Lula B. Candler Crawford, Jan. 27,1956. To this union one son was born, Broderick Crawford.
He leaves to cherish his memories a devoted and loving wife of 57 years, Lula B. Crawford, Minden; two sons, Broderick (Sharon) Crawford and Aaron Fullwood, Dallas, Texas; one daughter, Dorothy Jean Dowell, Minden; one sister, Joan(Walter) Richardson, Carson, California; four brothers, Willie J. (Joyce) Crawford, Rawlind Crawford, Sacramento, California, Dianna (Lovie Ann) Crawford and Billie Crawford, Minden; special uncle, Richard (Lorene) Cobb, Minden; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
