Man arrested for trying to strangle girlfriend
A domestic squabble ended in one man's arrest by Minden Police for allegedly trying to strangle his girlfriend.
Travis Teichriv, 42, of the 500 block of Germantown Road is charged with domestic abuse battery by strangulation.
According to police chief Steve Cropper, officers Chase Wimberly and Shawn Jenkins responded to a call from Teichriv's girlfriend in reference to a domestic disturbance.
"When they arrived at the residence, the victim said she and her live-in boyfriend, Teichriv, had gotten into an argument and the argument progressed to the point where Teichriv placed his hands around her neck and was strangling her," Cropper said.
By the time officers arrived, Teichriv had reportedly left the scene.
"The victim gave officers information about where Teichriv might be," Cropper said. "They went to a residence on Drew Lane where they located Teichriv and arrested him."
Teichriv was transported to Minden Police Department where he was reportedly booked. He was then transferred to Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center, according to the chief.
