MHS Lady Tiders Award winners

At the recent 2012-12 Minden High Basketball banquet, Lady Tider coach Jacob Brown handed out a number of awards to his team.

After recognizing the freshmen and jv teams, and honoring team managers, Carmecia Noles, Dadreon Thompson and Jonquez Moore, the following awards were presented.

The Coaches Award and the Hustle Award went to Metosha Gill. The Sportsmanship Award went to Chequila Frazier and the Most Improved went to Tiaga Pugh.

The Leading Rebounder Award went to Shabrie Nelson with six per game, and the Steals Leader was Tyia Green at three steals per game. Nelson also took the Top Field Goal Percentage at 56%.
Carmela Specks picked up a number of awards, including the Top Free Throw Shooter (66%); Top Three-Point Shooter (32%), Assists Leader (3 per game) and Leading Scorer (17 ppg).

Specks was named the Offensive MVP, and Gill was the Defensive MVP. Specks was named Team MVP.

Specks was honored for making First Team All-District, Second Team All-Area and Parish MVP.

Anatavia Sterling and Tiaga Pugh both were Honorable Mention All-District.
