Minden Medical Center (MMC) recently presented Lifepoint Community Foundation grants to three local nursing schools: Northwest Technical School, Grambling State University and Louisiana Tech University.  Each school received $1,666.

The grants were funded by the LifePoint Community Foundation, which was established in 2001 by LifePoint Hospitals®, a leading hospital company focused on providing quality healthcare services close to home.

Minden Medical Center is part of LifePoint Hospitals.

The purpose of the LifePoint Community Foundation is to fund community projects that promote health and well-being in communities where LifePoint’s hospitals are located.

The Foundation supports organizations that have demonstrated a commitment to maximizing available resources and a reputation for delivering high-quality services with caring and compassion. MMC and LifePoint support organizations that foster the positive growth and development of the community and its residents.

In the last year alone, LifePoint Community Foundation grants have supported regional cancer organizations, provided scholarships to young nursing students, helped provide food and shelter to the homeless, and assisted in protecting women and children fleeing domestic violence.
