Ponytail All-Stars playing well

HAUGHTON —The Minden Dixie Ponytails All-Star team went 2-1 this past weekend in their first All-Star action.

Minden beat Union Parish, 11-5 in their first game on Saturday, before falling to Bossier, 12-2 on Sunday. But the ladies bounced back yesterday beating Vivian, 11-2.

"We've been playing pretty well," head coach Todd Spurlcok said. "We hit the ball real well and we've gotten some good pitching."

Against Vivian, the Ponytails pounded out nine hits. Raylicia Dillard homered and Carsin Spurlock tripled. Olivia Osborne had two hits and Megan Sims, Taylor Corbit, Allie Maness, Karlee Osbon and Madison Harris all singled.

Pitchers Camryn Banks, Megan Sims, Taylor Corbit and Carsin Spurlock combined to hold Vivian to just one hit.

Against Union Parish on Saturday, Caitlyn Scott doubled and Olivia Osborne, Camryn Banks, Carsin Spurlock and Taylor Corbit all singled.

Camryn Banks had two hits to lead Minden against Bossier on Saturday. Madison Harris, Karlee Osbon, Carsin Spurlock and Raylicia Dillard all added base hits.

The Minden Ponytails will play again tonight at 5:30 p.m. when they take on the loser of the Haughton/Bossier game.

The Pontails All-Star Tournament should run through Wednesday.
