Jehoshaphat, king of Judah, received word that an enormous army was closing in on him and his people. What was his reaction? He "set himself to seek the LORD, and proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah. And Judah gathered themselves together, to ask help of the LORD:" 2 Chronicles 20:3, 4. Before the whole congregation, the king prayed to almighty God acknowledging who He is, His promises, and making entreaty for God's intervention. "Then upon Jahaziel . . . came the Spirit of the LORD" verse 14. Not only was the message from the Lord a promised victory, but they were told "Ye shall not need to fight in this battle: set yourselves, stand ye still, and see the salvation of the LORD with you" verse 17.
