Dennis C. Small, 17, of the 1700 block of Alma Street, Shreveport, is charged with illegal possession of stolen things over $500, theft of a motor vehicle over $1,000 and as a fugitive from Shreveport Police Department on a robbery charge.
Minden Police Chief Steve Cropper said recovery of the $80,000 stretch limousine led detectives to the alleged thief.
During questioning, Small also admitted taking a second vehicle that was parked less than a block from the apartment complex where he was staying.
"He said he drove the vehicle until it broke down on I-20," Cropper said.
Police first learned of the stolen limo when a citizen reported it in a phone call to the police department Monday around 9 p.m.
The vehicle had been spotted in a parking lot at the corner of East Union and Talton streets.
Cropper said he felt the limousine had been there about an hour at the time of the call.
There reportedly was minor damage on the passenger side of the vehicle and in front of a rear tire.
The owner, Horace Whitehurst retrieved his property the same evening.
During the investigation, police learned that Small has an active arrest warrant out of Shreveport Police Department on the charge of robbery.
"Investigators are continuing to look into Small for other crimes he may be associated with locally," said the chief.
