Minden man allegedly shot estranged wife, then shot himself
Bossier City Police are investigating an apparent murder-suicide involving a Minden couple at a Bossier City business.
According to Public Information Officer Mark Natale, police and fire crews were called to the Texture and Tones Hair Studio and Boutique in the 1600 block of Airline Drive at approximately 4:30 p.m. Wednesday in reference to shots fired.
"When they arrived on the scene, they found a man and woman inside the business dead from gunshot wounds," Natale said.
An investigation by detectives with the Violent Crimes Unit identified the male as Lavance Deshannon Williams, 43, of Minden.
"Williams apparently shot his estranged wife, Lashontay Jimese Lewis, 33, also of Minden shortly after he arrived at the business which houses a tax service operated by Lewis," Natale said. "Based on evidence at the scene and statements from witnesses, it appears Williams shot Lewis during an argument and then shot himself."
Several others were inside the business at the time of the shooting, including the couple's 11-year old son. Natale said none of them were injured.
Bossier City police are continuing their investigation into the shootings and have no records of prior incidents involving the couple.
