A spat between a man and woman at a local restaurant Thursday ended in an alcohol and drug arrest by Minden Police officers.
Kenneth C. Brewer, 28, of the 100 block of Brewer Road, Minden, was charged with public intoxication and possession of CDS Sch. II Hydrocodone.
Chief Steve Cropper said Lt. Seth Young and Off. Jonathan Odom were dispatched around 9 p.m. to a pizza restaurant on Homer Road to check on a report of a disturbance between a male and female.
"The call was that both subjects were fighting with each other," Cropper said. "Officers located the pair at a pharmacy down the street. Once contact was made with Brewer, officers determined that he was under the influence of alcohol. His speech was slurred, he had bloodshot eyes and was unsteady on his feet."
Cropper said Brewer admitted to consuming a pitcher of beer at the restaurant.
"Officers arrested Brewer and upon the search of his person, Hydrocodone was discovered in a cigarette box," said the chief.
The female subject reportedly was identified as a fugitive from Kaufman County, Texas.
Both subjects were booked at the Minden Police Department and transported to Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center.
