Funeral services for Mrs. Iris Dillon Hendrix, 92, will be held today (Tuesday, July 5, 2011), 2 p.m. at Bailey Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ronald Morgan officiating. Interment will follow in Old Athens Cemetery, Athens, under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Springhill.
Visitation was held Monday, July 04, 2011 from 5 until 8 p.m. at Bailey Funeral Home, Springhill.
Mrs. Hendrix was born on Feb. 17, 1919 to Otus and Kate (McFarland) Dillon in Athens and passed away Sunday, July 3, 2011 in Springhill. She was a member of First Baptist Church and was a homemaker.
Iris is survived by a special niece, Patty King of Springhill and several other nieces and nephews. Mrs. Hendrix was preceded in death by her husband, William Conger Hendrix on July 15, 1989; father, Otus Scott Dillon; mother, Kate Clair Dillon; sister, Opal Fern Curlee; and brother, Cloyd C. Dillon.
Pallbearers will be deacons of First Baptist Church.
