Boy struck by car

An 11-year-old boy is in the hospital with non-life threatening injuries after a driver failed to observe a stop sign and hit him while he was playing basketball on West Street Sunday evening.

The 19-year-old driver of the car, Erin Graham, of the 700 block of 1st Street, Gibsland, struck the 11-year-old as she was traveling west on West Street. The child was thrown onto the hood of her vehicle and into the windshield, according to reports.
