The Glenbrook Lady Apaches clinched the MAIS 7-A District softball title with a win over Central School and a loss by UCA on Thursday.
The Lady Apaches 18-7 overall and 9-3 in district play, will head to Liberty, Mississippi tomorrow to begin the South State Tournament at Amite School Center.
"I want to congratulate the girls on what they've so far," Glenbrook head coach Jonathan Hardy said. "They've fought through adversity and injuries all year to win a championship. Now we're looking even higher."
The Lady Apaches beat Central School, 18-2 on Thursday.
Jessica Mangrum improved her record to 9-3 and added a pair of singles.
Melody Hanson led the offense with a three-for-four day with a single and two doubles. Taylor Simpson added three singles and Gracyn Gorman had a double and a single. Lucille Dayton, Tiffany Mosley, Lauren Sims and Carsin Spurlock all added base hits.
The Lady Apaches will play Tensas Saturday morning at 11:40 a.m. in the first round of the South State playoffs.
