MoJeaux A Gogh Gogh: Where Coffee is an Art, is holding its grand opening from 5 until 7 p.m. Owner Angel Haney said art displayed in the shop is for sale and during the grand opening, artists will be available to discuss their work. Live music will also be provided by Leslie Coyle.

The public is invited to attend the grand opening and try one of many coffee flavors. MoJeaux A Gogh Gogh will also offer book exchange for patrons.

Haney said she wants to create an environment for drinking coffee, relaxing with a good book, and visiting with friends. She looks forward to seeing members of the community stop by her new shop, located on Main Street across from Her's Bridal.

Saturday

Flag retirement ceremony and pancake breakfast

With support from the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2885, the Minden High JROTC Crimson Tide Battalion are making themselves available to the public, so that flags which are no longer serviceable can be retired in a proper fashion.

The JROTC has prepare flags for the ceremony, which will be held at Webster Parish Fairgrounds, 800 Goodwill St., at 9 a.m.

A free pancake breakfast will be sponsored by the VFW from 8 until 9 a.m. before the ceremony. Donations are appreciated.

Volunteers needed for work at Cultural Crossroad’s Farm

Volunteers are needed for Fall Fun Clean Up efforts at Cultural Crossroads' Farm, located on the corner of Talton St. and Hwy 80/Union St in Minden.

The four acre farm, which was donated to Cultural Crossroads by Zenobia West to help foster art and culture in Webster Parish, recently added a studio to the grounds. The public is invited to attend Fall Fun Clean up by either donating their time or donations of water and snack food for volunteers.

Sunday

Grambling Choir to perform at local church

Growing Valley Baptist Church young adults and youth present its annual praise and worship services at 3 p.m..

This year's theme is, "Praise Him for His Goodness."

The Grambling State University Entourage Choir will be in concert.

Camp Minden Cadets will post colors for the program and there will be other performances by the Growing Valley Youth choir, soloists and praise dance teams.

Area guest soloists and praise dance teams will also be in performance. The public is invited to attend.
