Minden instructional baseball camps

Minden High School head baseball coach Dean Francis will be conducting a series of baseball skills camps next month.

The camp will be instructed by Francis, his staff and players from Minden High School.

There is no deadline for sign ups, but parents are encouraged to register their sons as soon as possible. Walk-ups will be welcomed, but Francis and his staff would like to encourage everyone to pre-register.

The camps will be broken down into three different camps, defining each skill set taught.

Total Skills Camp

Campers are instructed in the skills of defense, hitting, throwing and catching.

Hitters Camp

Campers are instructed in swing mechanics, drills and the mental component of hitting. Campers will also receive information on strength training specific to hitting.

Pitchers Camp

Campers are instructed in pitching mechanics, throwing quality strikes, fielding the pitching position and the mental component to pitching.

There will be four different sessions: Session I:  Total skills camp, This session will run June 6-10 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.  Ages 5-8. Cost $60. Session II: Total skills camp This camp will run June 6-10 from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m.  Ages 9-14. Cost $60. Session III: Hitters camp This camp will run June 13-15 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.  Ages 9-14. Cost $50.

Session IV: Pitchers & catchers. This camp will run June 16-17 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.  Ages 9-14. Cost $50.
Registration forms for the camps are available at Minden Athletic and at the concession stands at the Minden Recreation Complex.
