One arrested for striking another with garden tool
Using a garden tool to make her point has planted a Minden woman behind bars.
Lisa Gipson, 48, of the 100 block of Robertson Drive, is charged with aggravated battery after striking another woman on the face and body with a rake.
Minden Police Chief Steve Cropper said Gipson was arrested on two occasions, the first time, along with another female subject with whom she had been fighting.
"That was on January 20," Cropper said. "Officer 1st Class James Barnes and Sgt. Spencer Tippen were dispatched to Robertson Drive on a disturbance call."
When they arrived, they reportedly made contact with two females who had been in an altercation.
"One had several injuries on her face," said the chief. "Both were charged with disturbing the peace by fighting and were arrested."
After officers transported the women to the police department, they discovered injuries on one subject.
"She had cuts, scratches and bruises in her facial area and began telling officers she was struck in the face and body with a rake," Cropper said.
The investigation was turned over to detectives Heath Balkom and Chris Cheatham.
They discovered Gipson had picked up a rake and hit the other woman in the face and body several times.
"As she had bonded out at that point, a warrant was obtained for Gipson for aggravated battery," Cropper said
Gipson was arrested on February 2, booked at Minden Police Department and transported to Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center.
Bond was set at $5,000.
