Springhill woman busted for drugs

Ashley WynneA Springhill narcotics dealer is incarcerated at Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center following her arrest by the North Webster Drug Task Force.

Ashley Lucille McGrew Wynne, 26, of the 100 block of Monica Lane, has been charged with possession of CDS Sch. II methamphetamine with intent to distribute and two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia.

According to reports, task force agents, including Webster Parish Sheriff's Lt. Shawn Baker, Springhill Det. Ronald Wedgeworth and Springhill Sgt. Sal Gonzalez received information from a "reliable informant" that Wynne was at her residence on Monica Lane.

With felony arrest warrants from an ongoing investigation in hand, agents confronted Wynne at her residence and, according to reports, took her into custody without incident.

"When asked if anyone else was in the residence, Wynne stated 'yes,'" Wedgeworth said. "Contact was made with a white male, and during pat down for weapons, a small bag of suspected marijuana was found on him."

Wedgeworth said he asked Wynne if there was anything else inside the residence, and she removed two syringes from her purse and a plastic straw.

"She told us there were two more syringes in her bedroom and showed us their location," Wedgeworth said.

Wynne was booked at the Springhill Police Department and transported to Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center. Her bonds for possession of Sch. II and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia totaled $26,000. Bond on the second count of possession of drug paraphernalia has not been set.
