RAYVILLE — The Glenbrook Apaches (11-3 and ranked #2 in MAIS Class 1A) fell to Trinity Episcopal (#2 in 2A), 77-59, in the Riverfield Holiday Doubleheader in Rayville Thursday night.
Glenbrook jumped out to a 17-11 first quarter lead, before Trinity out-scored them 24-12 in the second quarter to take a 35-30 halftime lead. Trinity then out-scored Glenbrook, 42-29, in the second half.
"Overall, they were a deeper and a more talented team than we were," Glenbrook head coach Todd Spurlock said. "They will definitely contend for the 2A title. So it was good to see how we matched up against them."
Jalen Patterson led the Apaches with 25 points and Cade Spurlock dropped in 18. Maurice Moore added 14.
"Most of our scoring came from the same three players," coach Spurlock said. "We have to get more production from some of the other kids. I thought we did a lot of good things, especially in the first half. But I was disappointed in our effort at times. I thought we could have played harder. I didn't think we competed at the level we usually do."
Glenbrook will play Tallulah today at 2 p.m.
