Sue Matthews Norman

Funeral services for Sue Matthews Norman were held today (Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012) at 2 p.m. at Lakeview United Methodist Church in Minden. Officiating was Rev. Leon Boggs. Interment followed at Gardens of Memory in Minden.

The family received friends from 1 p.m. until service time Thursday at Lakeview United Methodist Church.

Sue was born Dec. 21, 1924 in Minden and entered into rest Dec. 26, 2012 in Ruston.

She was a charter member of Lakeview United Methodist Church, member of Department Club, Garden Club, a certified flower judge and Woman of the Year. She was the owner of Magic Needles Knit Shop, Brown and Goodwill dress shop later changed to Susan's On Main and past director of Webster Parish Tourism.

Her parents, Ernest and Thelma Matthews; husband, Dr. Carter B. Norman; and grandson, Jason Matthews Moss preceded her in death.

She is survived by her daughter, Susan Norman Moss and husband, Dr. Edwin B. Moss of Choudrant; grandchildren, Dr. Jody Carter Moss and wife, Miranda of Monroe, Justin Norman Moss and wife, Sarah of Lafayette and Matthew Jordan Moss, student at LSU in Baton Rouge; great-grandchildren, Anna Carter Moss, Justin Norman Moss, Jr. and Benjamin Brady Moss all of Lafayette, Mary-Kate Moss, and Lauren Carter Moss of Monroe; niece, Karen Norman Van Horn of Herndon, Virginia; aunt, Helen Sharp; and cousin, Linda Sharp of Haynesville.

Pallbearers were grandsons, Jody, Justin, and Matthew Moss and J. W. Wiley, Norman Murphy and Frank Price.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Lakeview United Methodist Church on Lakeshore Drive, Minden.
