School personnel changes announced

Charlotte Dean, Interim Personnel Director for the Webster Parish school system, could see the word "interim" removed from her title after discussions scheduled for the next school board meeting Monday, October 13.

Dean, who also serves the parish system as library media and middle school supervisor, picked up the title and job responsibilities as interim personnel director when assistant superintendent Jackie Sharp retired. In the past, the assistant superintendent also took on personnel responsibilities; the Webster school board currently has no assistant superintendent.

After new policies and procedures presented by Jerry Lott's committee had been approved, District 9 member Frankie Mitchell pointed to the provision in the interim employee section which says the superintendent may assign an employee to an interim position "not to exceed one year."
