Stolen limo found in Minden

What started out as a bad week for a Shreveport businessman, ended on a good note when his stolen limousine was located in Minden Monday night.

Police Chief Steve Cropper said detectives are looking for clues as to who may have stolen the $80,000 vehicle and left it in a grocery store parking lot at the corner of East Union and Talton streets.

"A citizen called in around nine o'clock Monday evening and said there was a limo in the parking lot," Cropper said. "We think it had been there about an hour."

Cropper said there was minor damage on the passenger side of the vehicle and in front of a rear tire.

"Detective (Chris) Cheatham was called in to process the vehicle for clues, but we don't have any suspects at this time," said the chief.

According to Cropper, limo owner Horace Whitehurst retrieved his vehicle Monday night.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Minden Police Department at 377-1212 or 371-4226 or the Shreveport Police Department at 673-7300.
