Funeral services for Robert L. “Bob” Hamilton will be held Friday, May 13, 2011 at 10 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in Minden. Officiating will be the Rev. John Cannon. Interment will follow at Gardens of Memory in Minden under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. today (Thursday, May 12, 2011) at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden.
Bob was born Oct. 8, 1939 in El Dorado, Arkansas and unexpectantly passed away May 11, 2011 in Shreveport following a long illness. He was a longtime resident of Minden; he was a graduate of Louisiana Tech University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and served in the United States Army. He was founder and co-owner of Custom Fiberglass Products, Inc. and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Minden.
Bob was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
His parents, Ralph and Idelle Hamilton, preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Mary Ann Wilkins Hamilton of Minden; daughters, Haley Hancock and husband, Kendall of Cabot, Arkansas, Dianna Horning and husband, Brian of Norman, Oklahoma and Suzanne Leslie and husband, Bryant of Cabot, Arkansas; sisters, Peggy Bailey of St. Augustine, Florida and Bonny Hickman and husband, Joe of Hot Springs, Arkansas; grandchildren, Charlie and Mary Catherine Hancock, Sam, Clay and Lily Horning and Will Leslie.
Pallbearers will be Robert Carnahan, Richard Armstrong, Buddy Ward, Bo McGuire, Sidney Simms and Britt Synco.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dick Kratzer, Toby Whaley, Johnny Benton, Harmon Drew and Ronnie Brown.
