Memories of Andress Motors Company

While talking to Thad Andress about the old days at Andress I thought of my first days there. They were not successful days, to put it mildly. This was November 25 1940, near the end of the Depression.

Good jobs were still hard to find. I had finished Meadows Draughon Business College and I was so proud to be hired at Andress Motors Company as bookkeeper.

I had hardly been at work for a month when my boss, Leon Adkins, was hospitalized. He sent me the combination to the big old safe.
